Letter to Survivors from Rachel Downes CEO, October 2020

5th October 2020

Dear Survivors,

I hope you are all keeping well.

We are now moving into the final months of the work of Caranua. This means that we are no longer accepting applications for funding supports. Our work over the last year has focussed on ensuring that as many applicants as possible got an opportunity to apply for funding supports. In particular we focussed on survivors who had not previously received funding supports or had received minimal funding supports from Caranua.

The next few months, we will focus on finalising the operations of Caranua in preparation for closure on Thursday 31st December 2020.

I will continue to update you as we get nearer to the closure date. If you have any specific questions please contact us through our phone service Freephone from Ireland 1800 212477, Freephone from UK 0808 234 1303 (Charges may apply from some mobile networks). From anywhere +353 1 8742277 (not a freephone number from outside Ireland and the UK) or by emailing Our phone lines are open Monday to Friday 10am -12pm and 2pm – 4pm, you can leave a message outside these times and a member of staff will call you back as soon as possible.

Take care,

Rachel Downes

Chief Executive Officer
