Caranua is recruiting for the position of Call Line Operator
Caranua is an independent State body established to improve the wellbeing of adults who as children experienced abuse in institutions managed by religious congregations in Ireland. We do this by responding to applications from eligible survivors and providing assistance that will will improve their quality of life and prevent institutionalisation in later life. We also provide support, information and advocacy to survivors, build public awareness of the effects of institutional abuse and enhance the capacity of public services to recognise and respond to the needs of survivors.
Caranua now invites applications for the post of Call Line Operator. This post is a specified purpose contract.
Call Line Operator
Reporting to the Head of Administration, the role of the Call Line Operator is to contribute to the service to survivors who make applications to Caranua by providing a first point of contact, signposting and information service to them. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- A minimum two years’ experience in a similar post such as customer service, advice, emergency or social services
- Experience in working with a high volume of calls
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff and service users, remaining composed, even in challenging circumstances
- An ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with others, sharing information and knowledge, as appropriate.
