Dear Survivors,

I hope you have kept well over these past few difficult months.

In line with Government guidance from mid-March, Caranua staff have worked from home. Thankfully this has not impacted on the service we provide to survivors and I am happy to say that funding supports payments have been made to survivors every week during this time.

Due to the impact of COVID-19 restrictions, the Caranua Board decided to extend the timeline for providing funding supports payments to survivors with open applications. This decision was made because we understand it was very difficult for survivors to get the required quotes with so many restrictions in place. We want survivors with open applications to have the best possible chance of accessing funding supports before we close.

With these exceptional circumstances and in order to continue with a person-centred wind-down, the Board has decided to revise the number of quotations required under the funding support process. The following are the revisions for the quotation process:

• Where the cost is less than €7,000/£6,000 or another currency equivalent, Caranua requires one quote.
• Where the cost is between €7,000/£6,000 and €10,000/£9,000 or another currency equivalent, Caranua requires two quotes.
• When the cost is above €10,000/£9,000 or another currency equivalent, Caranua requires three quotes. Where the cost is over €10,000 the supplier must provide a tax clearance certificate

The 31st August 2020 is now the last day that Caranua will accept quotes from survivors. This will give our Application Advisors time to review the application and make the remaining funding support payments by the 30th September 2020.

No further funding support payments will be made after 30th September 2020. Application Advisors have been in contact with most survivors with open applications to give them this information.
